Before going into independent practice I spent years inside the finance
functions of large manufacturers — automotive and energy — closing books to group
deadlines, running SAP FI, CO and MM, and building the reporting that management
actually used to make decisions.
That matters for the work here in two ways. Accounts are prepared with
an eye on what the numbers will be used for, not only on whether they balance. And
when a client asks for something that looks like a controller's job rather than an
accountant's, it is familiar ground.
